ENROLMENT PROCESS
Enrolments for Foundation students open in March the year before their starting school year and close the end of April.
Enrolments for Years 1 – 6 classes are accepted at any time throughout the year subject to availability.
Information sessions and school tours are held at the school in Term 1 and will be advertised through our website and local billboards/kindergarten bulletins.
Please refer to our Enrolment Policy for information specific to the enrolment of non-Catholic children and children of other faiths.
How to apply for enrolment at St. Andrew’s Primary school:
- ENROLMENT ENQUIRY FORM: Complete an Enrolment Enquiry form available on our school website or from the school office.
- ENROLMENT FORM: You will be contacted by the school following your enquiry to advise whether we are able to proceed with your application. If successful, you will be invited to complete our Enrolment Form. This can be completed electronically or via a hard copy collected from the school office. A copy of the following documents will be required to complete the Enrolment Form: Birth Certificate, Baptism Certificate, Immunisation Certificate, Current Visa (if applicable).
- INTERVIEW WITH PRINCIPAL: You will be contacted by the school to arrange an appointment time for an interview with the Principal. Your child will need to attend.
- PARISH COMMITMENT: We ask that you consider completing a Parish Commitment Parish Stewardship Form (available from school office) following our interview.

Catholic Primary Schools within the Parish of St. Andrew’s have a responsibility to prioritise enrolment for baptised Catholic children.
Enrolment priority will be provided to Catholic children who reside in our school catchment area. The enrolment of non-Catholic children who reside in the school catchment area may take place only when their enrolment would not exclude Catholic children from enrolling in our school.
Enrolments into St. Andrew’s Catholic Primary School will be taken in the following priority:
- Baptised Catholic children who reside within St. Andrew’s Primary School catchment area.
- Siblings of children already enrolled in St. Andrew’s Primary School.
- Baptised Catholic children from other school zones but are recognised as parishioners by the parish priest.
- Baptised Catholic children from other school zones within St. Andrew’s Parish where a need exists.
- Children from Orthodox religions who reside in the catchment area.
- Children from Orthodox religions who reside outside of the catchment area.
- Other-Christian children who reside in the catchment area.
- Other-Christian children who reside outside of the catchment area.
- Non-Christian children who are residents of the catchment area
- Non-Christian children who reside outside of the catchment area.
ENROLMENTs: Special Needs
Children with special learning needs will need to have a Program Support Group (PSG) established well in advance of enrolment formalities being completed.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION APPLICATIONS
St Andrew’s Parish is dedicated to the educational needs of all parish families by establishing schools throughout the parish. To ensure the viability of each school, families are expected to apply to and attend the local Catholic primary school to which they are zoned residentially.
Should a family seek to apply for special consideration to move between zones, an application must be made to the school to which they are zoned accompanied by a written letter outlining:
- The school to which you are seeking enrolment.
- The reason/s for your request.
Matters of convenience such as proximity to a secondary school, a train station or other transport are not seen as sufficient reasons to warrant special consideration.
Decisions will be made after the relevant principals have contacted each other to assess the situation, taking into account family needs and the school’s situation
